Baltimore mayor vetoes bill to rename Christopher Columbus obelisk in honor of victims of police violence

Democratic Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young said in a letter that he shared a concern expressed by Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison the monument was close to another memorial, one that honors officers who died in the line of duty.
