Sewer main break in Halethorpe sends more than 60,000 gallons of sewage waste into Baltimore County stream

A sewer overflow from a broken pipe near Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Halethorpe dumped about 61,500 gallons into the Herbert Run stream last week. The broken pipe, located behind the Open Gate Brewery, at 50001 Washington Blvd., was believed to have been caused by storm drain erosion, according to the Baltimore County Department of Public Works.
