Maryland might lose out on a new $1 billion federal medical research accelerator

The Biden administration is launching the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, modeled after the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, known for quickly funding promising projects, but some in Congress want it located away from Washington. Maryland officials hope to keep it in state.
