Two years in, Maryland leads most other states in use of ‘red flag’ gun law

Between when the law was implemented Oct. 1, 2018 and Sept. 30, Maryland has granted 989 extreme risk protective orders, an average of about 8 orders per year per 100,000 residents. Only Florida has used it more, by just about 13%.
