Gilman graduate and Ellicott City resident Thomas Booker started for three seasons at Stanford, where he thrived by relying on his versatility and was a two-time team captain. Somebody had to take notice of him running the 40-yard dash in 4.94 seconds and bench pressing 225 pounds 31 times, columnist Mike Preston writes.
