Renowned high school public address announcer Al Smith, ‘the voice of Old Mill athletics’, dies at age 81

Al Smith, who started working as a public address announcer at Old Mill High in 1975, died Wednesday at the age of 81. Smith spent almost 50 years announcing events at the county, region and state levels.
